The autor describes the design, implementation and usage of a set of portable Common Lisp tools: a code cross referencer (XREF), a profiler (METERING), a system definition tool (DEFSYSTEM), an implementation of logical pathnames (LOGICAL-PATHNAMES), a diff-like tool (SOURCE-COMPARE), and a source code documentation generator (USER-MANUAL).
